We are accustomed to the royal tulip as a perfect and harmonious plant, united from roots to petals.
At Joy Art Gallery, this is not inevitable.
This time we have collaborated with artist Alla Pikovski to create a table sculpture made up of different metals.
Painted steel joins with a base of brushed stainless steel.
The bright hues on the steel against the gleaming base devoid of color have created the “new tulip”.
Added to this are stems twisting back and forth, creating a three dimensional bouquet that allows a myriad of perceptions.
